IMMIGRATION
Q: Do I need a visa?
A: Persons who wish to visit the UK from outside the EU for a short time need permission to enter the UK. For the nationals of some countries this can be obtained upon arrival in the UK. However, for most countries permission must be obtained from the British Embassy or High Commission before they leave their country of origin.
Q: Can I work in the UK?
A: For most foreign nationals the answer is no. EU member citizens are free to work with some exceptions; however non-EU citizens must obtain a work permit before coming into the UK to work. This can be done through a prospective employer or through the HSMP (Highly Skilled Migrant Programme). Brar & co can assist you whether you are a company offering employment or a prospective employee.
Q: Can I get married?
A: If you are a foreign national in the UK you must obtain a Certificate of Authority from the Home Office in order to marry. If you wish to come to the UK to marry then the appropriate visa must be obtained before you travel. Brar & co we can assist you with this.
